Meet Maryanne

After completing post-graduate studies in Museums and Collections at ANU in 2011 I gained experience in curating and collection management at Lake Macquarie Regional Art Gallery and followed this up with a year in New York in 2012, working in art galleries in Chelsea and Soho and interior decorating all over Manhattan.

When I returned to Newcastle in 2013 I was keen to create my own gallery so my husband and I bought an empty old mechanic’s warehouse in Hamilton with a view to redeveloping, living and working in the new space.

I have an avid interest in printmaking, photography, sculpture and performance art and the main focus of the gallery is contemporary, fine, street and ethnic art and design.

I wanted to create the look and feel of the loft style industrial spaces that I love and had worked in around New York and designed a wonderful open plan residence and studio with the help of a local architect.
